Good design starts with the right material. Here is what goes into every TriAkar product — and why we choose it.
Every TriAkar piece is printed on demand using engineering-grade thermoplastics. We pick the material to match the job — appearance, strength, heat tolerance and flex all matter. Below is a plain-language guide to the three we use most.
PLA+ is the material behind most TriAkar products. It is a refined version of standard PLA, derived from renewable corn starch rather than petroleum. We choose it because it prints with crisp detail, takes a smooth premium finish, and holds colour beautifully — ideal for home decor, gifts and desk pieces.
Compared with basic PLA, PLA+ is tougher and less brittle, so finished items handle everyday use without cracking. It is best suited to indoor objects and decorative pieces kept away from prolonged high heat or direct sunlight.
ABS is a tougher, more heat-tolerant engineering plastic — the same family of material used in many consumer products. We reach for ABS when a part needs to withstand higher temperatures or take more mechanical stress than PLA+ comfortably allows.
PETG balances strength with a degree of flexibility, making it resistant to impact and less likely to snap under load. We use it for parts that need to bend slightly, absorb shocks, or stand up to repeated handling.
We print at high resolution for clean layer lines and a refined surface straight off the printer. A range of colours is available across materials. For custom and corporate work we can match a preferred colour where the material allows — just tell us during the quote.
Our bias toward PLA+ is deliberate. As a plant-based material, it lets us deliver premium design with a lighter footprint than petroleum-only plastics. It reflects how we think about the whole brand: designed globally, made responsibly in India, because good design should not cost the earth.
